FAQ

What is the difference between the standard Fender Blues Junior and the Blonde Fender Blues Junior?
There is not much of a difference between the standard Blues Junior and the Blonde Blues Junior. In fact, the only difference is that the Blonde Blues Junior has blonde tolex to give it a vintage tweed look. Other than that these two amps are identical. And they both have amazing tube tone.

Is the Fender Blues Junior loud enough to play a gig?
The Fender Blues Jr. is a tremendously versatile guitar amp. While it is great for practice and studio use, it is also great for jamming and gigs. While the Blues Junior alone may be a little too quite for larger gigs, mic'ing your blues junior will give you enough volume tom play any size gig and you will not lose the fantastic tube tone of your Blues Junior.

What is the difference between the Fender Blues Junior and the Fender Pro Junior amps?
The main overall difference between the Fender Blues Junior and the Fender Pro Junior is that the Fender Pro Junior is much simpler than the Fender Blues Junior. The Pro Junior just has 2 knobs, volume and tone, while the Blues Junior has knobs for gain volume, master volume, reverb, bass, middle, and treble, as well as a "fat" switch to slightly overdrive the amp for a fatter tone.

The next difference between the Blues Jr. and the Pro Jr. is that the Fender Blues Jr. is a louder and more powerful amp than the Pro Junior. The blues Jr. has a 12-inch speaker while the Pro Jr. only has a 10-inch speaker. Additionally, the Blues Jr. has three 12AX7 power tubes while the Pro Jr. only has two. The Blues Junior may be a little more ideal for gigging situations, although both amps will work. But both the Fender Blues Junior and the Fender Pro Junior have great tube tone at a very reasonable price.

I want to modify my Fender Blues Junior, can I do it myself?
While modifying your Fender Blues Jr. is a great way to get even greater tone from an already great amp, you should not modify your own Blues Jr. unless you have amplifier modification experience. While many people have changed their own tubes in their amplifiers, other changes like changing speakers or any other circuitry are more complicated. Trying to modify your own Blues Junior amp can be dangerous or deadly if you do not know what you are doing.

If you want to modify your Blues Junior you can always buy the parts and then take them to a local guitar amp technician. Or you can by a Blues Junior that already has mods. BillM mods are the most famous mods for a Blues Junior. Click here for more information on BillM mods for your Blues Junior.
